Thomas Jefferson School celebrated the Week of the Young Child with a variety of fun and developmentally appropriate activities. The week featured themed days like Music Monday and Artsy Thursday, focusing on different aspects of early childhood learning. Students engaged in creative projects, highlighting the importance of young children’s growth and development. Day #1 was Return to the Decades.

The students at Thomas Jefferson School who diligently came to school every day were celebrated in a special way. To honor their perfect attendance, they received bags filled with fun and useful gifts as a token of appreciation for their dedication. These students were recognized for their commitment to learning and responsibility, and their names were added to the “Perfect Attendance Wall,” a display that inspires others to strive for the same achievement. At Thomas Jefferson School, showing up every day truly makes a difference and the students are proud to be recognized for it.

The Union City School District would like to acknowledge the importance of Mental Health Awareness Month which is from May 1st to May 31st. The theme for Mental Health Awareness Month 2025 is "Turn Awareness into Action". The theme this year encourages individuals and communities to move beyond simply recognizing the importance of mental health and to take concrete steps to improve it. This includes actions like practicing self-care, advocating for change, and seeking support.

The Jefferson School recently hosted a Title III Literacy Game Night, an engaging event aimed at fostering parental, family and community involvement in language instruction programs for multilingual learners.

The Thomas Jefferson School celebrated “Bring your Child to Work Day!” on April 24, 2025. It was a truly enjoyable experience for everyone.

Our After-School Innovative Program presented our 2nd grade students at the Jefferson School, led by Mr. Rodriguez, ( Music Teacher), as they participated in a show they named "Diamond Shines". They performed songs from animated movies and musicals. They were true professionals and demonstrated their impressive singing abilities. Great job!
