Students in Mrs. Tello’s Third Grade class worked with the Math Coach, Mr. Licamara, to measure and calculate the perimeter of the taped shapes on the floor. By working together to add the lengths of all sides, they gained a hands-on understanding of how to find the total distance around different sized shapes. This interactive approach reinforced their measurement and addition skills in a fun, collaborative way.

On behalf of our students and staff, we want to thank the Hudson County Improvement Authority, for providing us with an impactful pedestrian safety program. Their newest program is called “Safety Story Time”. The team came to our school and read age-appropriate safety themed story books to individual classes. Hudson TMA’s mascot “Buster the Bus” and his friends were ready, willing, to visit our school, to encourage our youth to stay in the “Safety Zone”. This child-friendly, interactive presentation included tips about traveling and safety.

Our 4th graders and their families painted the "Love and Greatness Tree," symbolizing their deep bond. They shared meaningful words about each other while enjoying a night of creativity, laughter, and beautiful memories! 🌳💖 #FamilyFun #LoveAndGreatness #PaintAndSip #CreativeConnections

The Jefferson School celebrated the 100th day of school with a fun and imaginative twist. Students dressed up as if they were 100 years old, complete with grey wigs, glasses, and canes. The hallways were filled with adorable “elderly” students, all excited to mark this milestone. It was a day full of laughter and creativity, as everyone embraced the theme and had a blast celebrating this special day in their own unique way.

The SEL Cupcake Social was a delightful event where students came together to celebrate both fun and friendship. They enjoyed delicious cupcakes, danced to upbeat songs, and sang along to some of their favorites. The event fostered a sense of community as students shared laughter, meaningful conversations, and positive connections, all while strengthening their social-emotional skills in a lighthearted, supportive atmosphere. It was a perfect mix of sweet joy and learning!

The Thomas Jefferson School recently celebrated Crossing Guard Appreciation Day to honor the dedicated service of their crossing guards, Iris Yanez and Seydon Coulibaly. Kathy Czander and Emma Hualca from the Hudson County Transportation Management Association presented certificates to both crossing guards.

What an incredible night to start the New Year at our "Jingle and Mingle Family Game Night"! Over 150 parents and students came together for an evening of games, laughter, and connection. It was heartwarming to see families playing, sharing smiles, and creating unforgettable memories together. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special! Go JAGUARS!
