In Speech Therapy with Ms. Holguin, students participated in this fun superhero activity that was individualized to each student's goals. Skills targeted included labeling parts of the body and clothing items, labeling colors, requesting by utilizing the carrier phrase "I want" + name of the item and in some cases, color/s of the item, waiting for a turn and utilizing the phrase of "my turn" to practice turn-taking skills.

The Jefferson School hosted a 3rd Marking Period Honor Roll celebration. Congratulations to all of our students! ✨📚✨ They are truly dedicated to their studies and continue to excel in our district.

Parents and guardians attended an informative presentation by Special Education Teacher, Yuly Bristol on Autism Awareness. A special Thank You to Nancy Francisco, Parent Liaison for always hosting wonderful family events.

Mrs. Saroli’s class celebrated Earth Day. The class planted plants and wrote what they promise to do to help the Earth. It was a truly educational experience for everyone.

The Jefferson School was happy to kick off the Mood Boost Program designed by Chartwell. The program is intended to provide children with the opportunity to eat healthier foods while at school with the goal of establishing long-term healthy eating habits. 🍊🍓🍍🍅🍐🍉

The original artwork created by Sierra Poulard and Ellison Poulard have been selected by a panel of judges as Finalists in the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey’s 2022-2023 Fourth Grade Prevention Artwork Contest. These students are truly talented.

Our Kindergarten and First-grade students participated in a Fire Safety Show. They learned about fire escape planning, smoke alarms and other general home fire safety information. It was a very informative activity for everyone in attendance.

The 4th-grade students at the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School participated in an afternoon of Social Emotional Learning, beginning with a pizza luncheon courtesy of Jefferson staff member, Mr. Daniel DiIorio. The students then participated in the daily mindfulness activity with Dr. Williams.

Our monthly parent breakfast was a success thanks to our guest speaker, Therapist Adriana Gimenez, who spoke on the importance of handling emotions. Parents were also treated to a musical performance directed by Music Teacher Mr. Rodriguez, which involved students who participate in our after-school program.

Students in Mr. Rodriguez’s Music class (1st-4th grade) at the Jefferson School were learning about American Patriotic Songs. They did a short research about their songs, created homemade booklets and displayed lots of creativity.
