Please be advised of the latest newsletter as Chartwells continues to serve up happy and healthy meals throughout the Union City School District. We have been continuing to integrate Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables into the schools in creative ways while increasing student interest in trying new foods. Mrs. Michael's & Ms. Galasso's Buddy Reading Activity turned out to be outstanding. First, the third-grade students read to their younger buddies. Afterwards, the first-grade students worked with the third graders on drawing and interpreting their favorite parts of the books they read. Both classes enjoyed this unique activity and they were looking forward to reading together!

The Union City School District would like to wish all the Dads in our community a Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for everything you do.

First graders in Mrs. Michael’s class at Jefferson School really enjoyed participating in the “From Caterpillars into Butterflies” real life spring project! The class had five caterpillars living inside a netting habitat. Throughout the following weeks students were making daily observation using magnifying glasses to observe what changes if any took place.
