International Year of the Nurse

The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated 2020 as the “International Year of the Nurse,” in honor of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. Thomas Jefferson School would like to recognize our school nurse, Ms. Victoria E. Vazquez. Victoria has over 20 years of nursing experience in various capacities, which include working as a hospital pulmonologist, a public health nurse during the H1N1 pandemic, and assistant Director of Nursing in an assisted living facility. For the last 4 years, she has worked as a certified school nurse for the Union City Board of Education. Throughout this Covid-19 pandemic, we're so proud of our school nurse, Victoria! She has shown her bravery and strength on the front lines of this battle. She, along with the Union City School nurses, are the support system for our community and school during these uncertain times. Thank you, Victoria, for your strength, your resilience, and all that you do to nurture and educate our students, families, and community. Your compassion, optimism, and kindness do not go unnoticed. You are truly a valued member of the TJS team!
