Biography

My name is Ms. McGorty. I was born and raised in Hudson County, New Jersey. I graduated with a B.A, & M.A from New Jersey City University. I have taught second grade, third grade, and Pre-K in the Union City school district. I take pride in working with children. It is my belief that all children are capable of learning. They have the ability to do countless remarkable things with guided help from peers. Working together with great communication we can help the children strive for unlimited success.

2021-2022 School Year Information

Some things to know about our classroom:

• The room number is 104
• My assistances name is Mr. Jose (You will see him or myself in the mornings to get the students or dismiss them)
• School supplies will not be shared
• All supplies & clothes must be labeled with your child’s name and sent in a big sealed ziplock bag 
• Please do not send anything in addition to what I’ve asked. At this time we are only allowed limited items (No toys)
• Lunch & breakfast will be provided for students
• You can send a simple healthy snack for the afternoon (Nothing with nuts)

Please send these supplies in:

2 extra shirts (Doesn’t have to be uniform)

2 extra pants (Doesn’t have to be uniform)

2 extra underwear

2 extra socks

2 extra face masks (kid size, must fit correctly)

1 box of tissues

1 foam* soap

1 container of Lysol wipes

1 bottle of Lysol spray disinfectant

2 glue sticks (purple if possible)

1 set of markers

1 set of colored pencils

1 pencil box or bag

We are going to move slowly to get everyone adjusted nicely and together we will make great things happen.  I am here to work with everyone, and I will continue to make accommodations to the needs of the learners and their families. Whatever I can help provide for the students, I will gladly do so. I will be sending more information out pertaining to our schedule and things going on within the school once the administration shares it. As you know many things change from day to day with the CDC guidelines therefore it’s important to check your email messages daily. You are always able to reach me through on my email, [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
