Biography

I have dedicated my life to education and strongly believe that it can promote positive social change. I am in support of a holistic approach to child development, by integrating a variety of teaching methods and tools to instill in each child a lifelong love for education. My commitment to quality education and social reform inspires me to continually work and grow as an educator and child advocate. I have previously worked as a Montessori Teacher and Director of a Montessori Preschool Program for the DREAM Project(US non-profit) located in the Dominican Republic. In January 2017, I will begin my MA in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University

It is with great pride that I announce that Thomas Jefferson Elementary School is a recipient of a donorschoose.org classroom award. In September 2016, I submitted a project through donorschoose.org requesting “New Chairs for Our New Artroom!” I carefully described the demographic of the school and its need for new chairs and art supplies for the art room. The proposed project cost was $2,142.46, which covered the cost of 36 new elementary sized chairs, acrylic paints, crayons and colored pencils. Through the donations of 5 generous donors the full cost of the project was funded. The donors included Joyce Wan a former Union City resident, H&M and J. Crew.

The Thomas Jefferson community is very happy with the news of the award and can't wait to complete the thank you package for the donors. Stay Tuned! We are currently awaiting shipment. Photos will be posted as soon as materials arrive to the school.

I plan to continue our school's partnership with donorschoose.org to create more projects and initiatives that will assure our students receive the best education.

In addition to great and innovative professional development the exhibitors' hall is always full of tons of vendors and FREE Goodies!
