BIOGRAPHY

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Four years ago, I had the opportunity of moving to New Jersey. For me, teaching represents a process where I connect, deliver and impart lifelong knowledge.

I started receiving Music lessons when I was in middle school. When I was in high school, I made the decision to focus on taking voice lessons and entering a choir. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be a Music teacher. It was a privilege for me to join some of the most outstanding choral groups in the Caribbean and go to competitions, festivals, record on the studio, and perform internationally. Furthermore, I had musical theatre experience and as a solo singer for weddings, churches and events.

MUSIC @JEFFERSON

This is my fourth year at Jefferson School. The grade of the class is split into two categories: Participation and Classwork. I expect students to engage in class, complete projects and homework on time, and perform online or live. Students will use Schoology to study the materials for my class. Schoology is my main communication area with students and parents, so please log in weekly to take a look at the emails and reminders.

Jaguars, you have so much talent! I believe in you and what you can do. The course will be totally focused in music performance. It is fundamental students practice and memorize the music covered in class. The idea is that students perform in an annual Music Showcase to highlight their skills and aptitude towards Music.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me by email at [email protected]

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

The Jefferson Music Club is a group that sings CCM styles (Contemporary Commercial Music). Members are selected students from second to fourth grade. We discuss and put into practice concepts such as: vocal warm-ups, vocal range, vocal register training (chest, head, mixed voice, belting, passaggio, placement), phrasing, harmony skills, use of the microphone, stage presence, and etiquette in performances. The idea is to provide opportunities for students to perform and apply what we learned through performances at school events. Annually, we also prepare a themed show for the school community.
